The name can be changed I think, on the next update for example, it would just take a while for people who are familiar with it to get used to it. But we're at the point where not many people know about PPC so rebranding shouldn't be too hard, I think most that do know about PPC also are connected enough that they'd hear about a name change coming. ECOin is not a bad idea. You could open up a naming competition on here and users submit ideas and then have a poll, keeping PPC could be an option there as well.

Anyway Sunny I do hope you at least consider! I'd really like to see this succeed and that's the only reason I'm speaking up. Ditto for a website redesign.

Also do let us know if you have a plan for getting rid of checkpointing.

I started a discussion about the design of a tournament net, where checkpointing should be disabled. The purpose is to collect empirical data for strengthening the design and the confidence in the POS scheme. Yes, refresh to bitcoin v0.7 should come in the next release, likely within a couple months. I'd like to fully understand the impact of BDB limit from bitcoin's side first.

You probably have heard it a thousand times already, but i would also like the name to be changed.

PPC has by far the most interesting design out here, but i just can't take the name seriously. It's something small, but as long as people feel weird about the name, they will really hold back on embracing it.
Rebranding (if at all possible, i don't know the details of how that would work) would probably improve the popularity a lot.
Make sure you do this right though, don't just change the name without anouncement, make sure to inform people on beforehand so they don't go like "hu where did PPC go? :p"

Guys, please... if you have no bigger issues. A fancy name won't make the coin fly. And if it flies, the name doesn't matter. As far as I am concerned the name could be Crapcoin, and I would treat it the same.

1. A name is only a name
2. I like when i get PPCs from thin air (POS) 
3. I don't like to wait for DAYS to confirm a transaction (520 confirmations)
