    I think bitcoin is like the cash, you will lost it if you didn't take care of it.

    So, I think the number of lost bitcoin will continue rise if we just ask them to buy and not teach them to how to store it correctly.

But I can not really consider it as "research" because it considered all coins which haven't been transferred for a specific time as lost.

    It's hard to calculate but i think a lot (maybe 15-25% of current supply). When people didn't know it's real value and mined it just for fun.
