A Frog is sitting at the edge of a river when a Scorpion crawls up and asks, “May I please climb on your back as you swim across the river so I can get to the other side?”

The Frog replies, “No! You are a Scorpion! You will sting me as that is what Scorpions do.”

Scorpion: “You are judging me which is not fair… How about I stay on your back and hop off right before we reach the other side in shallow water so I can crawl up the edge. If I sting you along the way, we will both drown. There is no way I can sting you if I don’t want to die.”

The Scorpions logic makes sense to the Frog so the Frog swims to the other side of the river with the Scorpion on his back. Right before they get to the other side in the shallow water, the Scorpion stings the Frog and crawls up the embankment. The Scorpion watches as the Frog drowns.

The dying Frog yells, “How could you sting me! I took you to the other side! You lied!”

The Scorpion yells back, “You are an idiot! I am a Scorpion! We Sting!
