I've been sitting back quietly, watching and making sure the code is running as expected, and not waste my time with all the FUD slinging that has been going on.
Here's a little recap:
We released 0.9.2.0, without the 30 second manditory reject code, because it is unethical. I personally goofed, as I removed that code that should have stayed in there until after the fork block. That has caused the major fork between 0.9.1.1 and 0.9.2 "before" the fork block. This was unintentional, but since code was already alive, and lots of people upgraded at that point, there was no turning back, so we had to just continue with it.
During this time, there was a TON of FUD being thrown from Hozer, and his alts, and anyone who jumped on his band wagon. I personally am not going to pin-point who's alt is whos, but there has been digging done by BitcoinTalk staff to show that some of the alts that SlimePuppy listed, ARE Hozers. All of the known alts have been posting from the same IP address. The BitcoinTalk staff even listed some others that did not raise red flags for us, as his alts.
Regarding the moderated thread, it is what it is. If you are going to try and spread FUD, especially if you are "claiming" that you are "new to any coin", and then come out with some very highly detailed stuff about exploits, and how to implement them, and promote the use of them, even though 99.999% of all the exploits said are all false, then you can expect your post to be removed. This thread is about getting the REAL community back together, since CAT has had such a VERY rough life since it's beginning. Also, promoting the use of ANY catcoin that is NOT directly off of the OFFICIAL release, your posts will be removed also!
Since the fork block of 46331:
The 2 new algos with the semi-random picking of which algo is used to solve the next block, is working AWESOME! We have been hit many times by at least 2 known switch-pools, and the hardest hitting was with a combined hash rate of over 4GH, and there were NO insta-mine blocks, even without the 30 minimum kludge. Granted, it raised the diff after about 20 min of the switch-pool staying on, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than the old 9.1.1 code of just PID.
Shortly after we hit the fork block, I did a test, and removed the lease that I had control of, to see how it would do. It didn't do too bad, but still the low hashing gave the switch-pools enough power to raise the diff a bit, but still did fairly well. It took longer for it to come down, because there was maybe 50MH on the coin combined, to bring it down. Since then, I have been maintaining a low 100MH lease. This example shows that all we need is some reliable steady hashers to keep the block count running smoothly.
So, NOW is the time to get in contact with all of your friends that have mining equipment, and get some steady hashing going on!
It is probably going to take the rest of the community to get Cryptsy off their ass, and get their catcoind online, up and running, so we can start focusing on the future of CAT. Feel free to also contact any other exchanges that you wish to have CAT listed on! Let's get this community active in a positive way!
ALL of us as a community, can come up with tons of ways that we can use CAT. Let's start getting those ways thought up and designed! Let's make this CAT grow!!!!
