No. Only active witnesses earn DCT for their work.

If you have DCT it means you are a community member a tokenholder. It means you can vote for the active witnesses who in return will produce blocks and provide a reliable service.

How does the mining work and with which wallet? Is it each guy for himself or is it a leasing system like Waves where node owners mine coins with the coins leased to them by various holders?

Mining in Graphene DPoS is "each guy for himself", trying to provide the best value for the whole community. This is far superior than "a leasing system like Waves where node owners mine coins with the coins leased to them by various holders", because in the former one (e.g. BitShares, Steem, Decent) miners have all incentives to provide the best service to earn votes, not the cheapest service to maximize payout, regardless of quality, and be voted (e.g. Waves, Ark, Lisk).

Honest, last year my biggest hopes were in Decent. This year though it has just been a big let down. It is such a good idea with a very strong team behind it. But somehow it just missed getting attention from the right people. I guess maybe wrong place, wrong time kind of thing?

I still have hope though, and I am not able to use Bittrex, so I just have to hold for now.

Q3 of this year. We have a dedicated team, specialized in SDKs. We'll let you know if anything changes with this date. Keep in mind anyone with a bit of savvy can build using the APIs. If you simply can't wait for the SDK check out the docs and get involved with out developer groups.

Steady growth is a rare thing in crypto, I've just loaded up a few more at 5.1k today so I'll be hanging onto these for a good couple of years.

DECENT is just on its own level, spikes up and gets dumped back to where it was before lol. This could be whale accumulation or just fomo by a few smaller fish, either way the sells up to 10k don't add up to that much and most of the sellers seem to have already exited.

I really hope the team save several hundred BTC for the long run, when BTC goes past it's ATH next they could have a fortune.
