Black Friday just got 3% cheaper.

This November 9th, 2012, over 25 Bitcoin Merchants are hosting sales. Major sales in an attempt to introduce more consumers to Bitcoin and invigorate existing consumer spending. With news reports of 78% of bitcoins not being spent, we need to do *something*.

I'll most def watch this and see if anything perks my interest to give a try. Pretty good idea to hitch on a popular mainstream thing and grab some attention.

Bittiraha.fi will definitely participate. Both our exchange and our online store will have discounts. I'm contacting via email for the details. Our services are only for the Finns at this time though. We are expanding in 2013.

Can I ask why it's called "Black Friday"?
Black is more of a symbolic color for doom/death.. (No racism intended!)

Its based off a american shopping day after thanksgiving. Generally american stores have HUGE sales that day and it is the start to the holiday season.

It's called black friday because that's the day in the year stores start operating in the black(good) as opposed to red(bad).

Omnicoins will definitely be participating. Expect big savings from us on November 9. Further details to come.

I emailed this out to our 1,200 merchants! I am sure many of them will participate.

I'm thinking we're going to turn off our paypal & credit card acceptance for the day, and put up a nice big statement in support of bitcoins on the front and checkout pages.

Nice update! I spotted at least 3 Finnish Bitcoin accepting merchants in the list which is excellent.

I'm really looking forward to Bitcoin Friday. I will definitely spend some bitcoins that day.
