Seriously, what the hell is the Mavs office thinking? This is ridiculous. No one expected that trade. Not even Luka, who apparently cried after knowing he got traded. He even bought a $15M house in Dallas recently. I'm not a hater of AD, an MVP contender when he is healthy, and so is Luka. I won't trade Luka for AD any day. Luka is younger compared to the aging AD, who is already injury-prone. The long term benefit if they have keep Luka is better. Man, I'm a Warriors fan, but I'm also upset like other Mavs fans with this trade. I thought they were gonna keep him like what they did with Dirk. Really, when it comes to business, there is no loyalty. So other fans shouldn't be mad if a player asks for a trade. If the office thinks business is business, it should be the same for players.
When I saw the headline of this news, I was honestly shocked and thought to myself, wtf."
Luka is performing well and can definitely be called one of the best players in the NBA. This type of player usually performs his whole career in the uniform of one team as the team management usually tries to keep such valuable players.
Honestly, I also think the Mavs management made a big mistake. It's more like some kind of adventurous deal.
Either way, the Lakers are going to be interesting to watch now. If LeBron and Luka can find a mutual understanding and share the ball with each other on the court, I think the Lakers could be a serious problem for other teams during the playoffs.
