It's not about adopting, but studying how to use anything from the structure of the blockchain.
Also note that they don't ever mention "hey let's use Bitcoin", they want control and not a open ledger.
then i don't see the point for them to even work on a centralized blockchain, what real advantages can a centralized bring, that a cluster server can not? besides being more organized and transparent
i'm not buying the whole bullshit about cost and time, their cost are minimum right now with a cluster server instead of running node for another blockchain, it would be the same
imagine it for passports..
each immigration/passport agency around the world has key's to add data, when people apply for a passport... so its a world wide passport network
its these agencies that work as miners too..
now then, all new passports are basically a transaction ID.. where the transaction does not contain tokens of value(coins). but some other information useful to passport control offices.
EG
not { Value : 12345sat }
but { D.O.B: "23-02-1980", gender : "male", }
now imagine each airport no longer needs highly secured databases and highly trained IT staff to maintain the airports databases.. they simply access the passport blockexplorer website. and scan QR codes on the passports into the blockexplorer.
the "other information" can be anything.
now imagine that by moving the data from one key belonging to america, to a address belonging to UK.. any passport office can see where the people are in the world which helps track immigration, over-stayers, etc..
all without every airport/embassy needing highly expensive security.. just a web browser
