Oh, so the new ESP fork is ... not a fork? It needs to be swapped? Then I can't join that, I'd like to keep both coins.
What's going to happen if it is a swap, is people who want to go to the new altcoin are going to send their ESP to the other dev, and in turn they get their new ESP. (They should really just call it a different name). The new dev will then either burn all that ESP, or dump it on the market.
The proper way to do a burn is to send it to an address with a zero private key, there's a list here:

Well, burning swapped espers would ofcourse be good option, but I have heard that those Espers will be dumped on market.
Althou, I do not know the current situation since everyone that I have asked about it, does not have answers.
So I guess it is up to their dev to decide what he/she does with it.
But it is not up to us. Time will tell.
