    There are some languages, like Spanish and Portuguese, in which the word for coin and currency is the same.
    Could this be a clue for Satoshi's native idiom?

    I think this is quite common.

    For instance, 'Cash' was originally a type of Chinese coin. It was round with a square hole in the middle (so you could thread a string through the middle to carry them easily).
