The 5oz & 1g coins were handled without airtites by the models. They were all handled quite extensively in their airtites, including some being exposed to water. They do appear to still be intact and fully functional.

Those coins have been everywhere now! They are very durable

The people I worked with to make the book were really fascinated by them
