Qtum Halving: December 1, 2020

With the hard fork on April 30, 2021, Qtum shifted into the FastLane with 32-second blocks. The halving blocks were adjusted to keep the same pacing for halvings, and the first halving for Qtum will be on December 1, 2021. Qtum Will Pledge up to $5 Million, $1 million has been allocated initially

$1M has been allocated initially by the Quantum Foundation but Qtum founder PatrickXDai has said that as much as $5M may eventually be assigned to DeFi devs.

Patrick has since very early on made a name in the industry as having an event-garde approach to the whole ecosystem, as with Qtum being the:
Worlds first digital currency that can execute Smart Contracts with proofofstake but based on a UTXO model. Back then, people said that idea would be impossible. Not everyone though, investors such as Tim Draper, Roger Ver, and other seasoned names all invested in Qtum. 5 years later, here we are though, on track with a robust and secure PoS-chain.
We had a really big idea to combine a crypto-currency with programmability, and a few years later of hard work, Qtum was born in March 2016, as the worlds first digital currency that can execute Smart Contracts with Proof-of-Stake but based on a UTXO model.
