When we suddenly revert back to the Middle Ages. Bitcoin will not die. Maybe it will be replaced by an updated version or a new digital currency. Maybe it will co-exist with other currencies. Maybe its popularity will fade and people will move on. But it will not die. It has made much impact in the history of the inter web for it to die. It has made headlines and broken and surpassed records. It will continue to cycle and it will continue to exist. It may be forgotten but it will not be dead.
Very well said. So you're directly comparing bitcoin's existence like a history record. That no matter how time passed by or no matter how many forget and ignore bitcoin. It will still be there regardless of any aspects. And it is intangible so, it will pretty much just stay there.
Cazkys: Forgotten means the thing is dead, figuratively.
Back then, people never thought that their coins will never be replaced by anything and that their system has no flaw at all. We are experiencing the same thing today. We think that bitcoin is the best and that it will be remember for the rest of time because has made such impact to the world. But so did the coins of the past, so did the monetary system of the past.
In the past, there are edible currencies. There are strange rock currencies. There are currencies that are a piece of cloth. These are the origin of the coin that we have today. Yet, most of us don't even know about it and it's not remembered by all. I believe that the same thing will happen to bitcoins. It will be so obsolete that people don't even care about it anymore. You might think people will, but eventually people will not. Even the fiat money that we have today, literally everyone is using it. But sooner or later, it will be replaced by another currency and eventually be forgotten by most.
