Many people are using bitcoin for ideological reasons, others out of convenience, for fun or for profit, perhaps even to buy illegal goods and services online.
But in a democratic society*, are there any use cases for which bitcoin is the only viable alternative?
*Provided that in most -if not all democratic countries widespread trust in government supported legal tender hasn't not been breached.
Yes, of course

Many countries have too high taxes and banks have excessive fees on money transfers.
For me, it's very good reason to use bitcoin instead of local currency, and save a lot money.
Most governments do not recognize bitcoin as a separate currency, or financial assets, and this means that we are not violating any laws or financial regulations.
Democracy is good system but sometimes to expensive.
If I can avoid paying to much taxes in legal way, why not?
