1st ARK don't support DAPPS - they offer Smartbridges which is intercommunicating with other Blockchains.
2nd Blockpool will be a Masterchain for several private public blockchains in B2B environment.

Ark was a perfect clean slate to start with. They removed the smart contracts from the LISK chain which were a total mess. We plan on building our own smart contract system on our fork of Ark or if LISK comes out with one that is acceptable then we can look at adopting their smart contract system on our blockchain. Until then the plan is to build our own smart contracts. We don't really need sidechains although it would be a nice feature to have for future projects. Our platform would be able to provide communication between different chains if needed, it would just require plugins be built for it. As BLOCKPOOL grows and different organisations adopt our platform, I'm sure we will come across that scenario.
