On a more technical note: BTX experienced a nice rally since beginning of September. It is typical to retract after a new high for a short period of time. Happens all the time with even the best projects. Most recent example would be Monero. It jumped up to $135 then retracted to ~100ish.
I would be quite suprised if Bitcore's price didn't climb back up again in the near future.
Has nothing to do with any news. Regarding BTX there are usually only good news anyway.

Ya I don't think you would want to solo mine with because it would take ages to find a block. I would just stick to yiimp or supernova.

Even if that is the case, that is a distraction from my original question. I wish to know if it is possible to solo mine with sgminer and if so could someone could give me pointers on how to make this happen? Thanks

I'm not sure because I don't use sgminer... but with 80 GH/s it just seemed worthless to even contemplate with just those 4 cards. I don't even do it with my 6x 1080 TI rigs because it is definitely still more profitable to point them to a pool.

Also note, the amount of 23 is valid for the airdrop and you should receive +3% in the next aidrop. However you did not receive any before, because the first transaction to this address of 10.49 BTX was yesterday AFTER the airdrop (18th Sep 2017 22:06:53 ).

Yes, it probably need just some time to shake out those who plan to buy cheaper, until eventually they'll start to realise that it won't get cheaper anymore. That's the pshysiology of market.
