To answer your question about how security is MYST in an unbiased manner.
VPN providers often give access and data to law enforcement to catch criminals, whistle-blowers, etc. Due to the centralised nature of commercial VPN's this is an easy thing to do. I think that this would be near impossible with MYST. Definitely more secure in that respect 

Also, you must remember, for any state-level attacker simply a VPN/TOR will never be enough. It will never provide 100% annonymity from such an expert, there are many more ways to anonymise yourself. Everything in the internet leaves a trace, and everyone makes a mistake. Sooner or later everyone gets caught.
Do they have a solution now on how to combat abuse if you are providing bandwidth for others? What happens if a pedophile used your bandwidth to download illegal materials?
