I posted a few pages back about interest in developing a "heat map"... and its cool if you're not... no worries.
-------------
From that idea however, do consider the zooming scheme I had in that heat map:
3 skinny sliders each for time scale and another 3 for price scale
Time
1) forward back in time
2) zoom in out in time
3) log scale in time
Price
1) up and down in price
2) zoom in out on price
3) log scale in time
--------------------------
Another thought... and I'm not a web developer so I don't even know if its possible... but I do a lot of chart analysis that involves interpolation.
So, if I had that "3 way" in each direction location sliders...
and I could change your black background on the charts to an "image of my choice"
I could interpolate live.

now along those lines... but even more awesome... If I could have all in one window... 2 charts... say a 2h chart and a 5m chart overlayed on each other w/ control of opacity so one of them is more see through than the other...
w/ ability to zoom as described on each...
Now you've got a kickin' live stream, interpolation tool.
Live stream of LTCusd 5m candles stacked on BTCusd candles
Gox candles on BTCe candles, etc. Many uses.
I'm sure you've got your plate full... but thoughts are free
