It doesn't work like that STT - you can't put a time on it - theoretically we could wait a week without finding a block - it's just unlikely. The CDF is merely a statistical indicator not a rule.

And mining shares with a higher diff will only serve to ease the load on the network communications between you and the pool servers - has no affect on whether we find blocks faster or slower.

The only thing to do is be patient and carry on mining - any one person in the pool could be just about to solve the next block...

Plus the more people drop out, the bigger your slice of the pie will be when we solve a block... of course there is that whole pesky idea about less hashing power=longer time between solving blocks...  but lets just ignore that for now.

Yeah best to do that kind of stuff after a few short blocks - but it's always a gamble

Funnily enough I had to power down 2 pc's for 15 mins and chose to do it 3 hours into this marathon of a block - good call.

Be a good sport and do it, 10 hours is no fun ;-)

I've made a "mining room" in the basement, and just before the begining of this block, I powered up all the mining that was down due to migration !  At least, no more noise and heat in my computer room.. quite a releif

it sucks, right? we also added 1 block erupter today and wanted to see if it was enough to cover for the difficulty jump... been waiting 7hrs for a first earning on our huge 1.1GHash... lol... hoping for 0.0015, and if more miners leave the pool, we'll probably make it, too... but when?!
