I had some balance left on Bittrex, so I didn't deposit everything there. It confirmed in 1 minute, fee on me (and lite ). The second confirmation took much longer. Time to buy altcoins!

Small bump in the road: My browser's autofill turned the 0.01 for Waves into 0.01086598. That means I got 0.7434546 Waves too much, I sold them again.
Some orders were filled at different rates, I tried to make up for that in the last buy, but overlooked the 952 satoshi from XMR that I didn't use. I can't buy for that low amount, so I'll neglect the difference. Later addition: I now remember I had some Eth-dust left on Bittrex, that makes up for the 952 sat.
Bittrex takes 0.25% fee on all trades.

I'm almost certain I'll forget about this as time goes by, but I think we can all rely on Loyce to update us when the time is up! 10 10 17. That's a great date to have our investment start, even if we'll miss out on 0.1 of Bitcoin gold/gpu/sw2

Note: it is a pity that we didn't get to buy at today's bargain prices. But 10 months is a long time, can't wait to see the results. Good luck everyone and thanks once more to Loyce for managing this portfolio. Be nice to check back every month for some (pointless?) discussions, though!

Actually it was October 4, not 10.

I'm now afraid to look at my Bittrex, only XRP and ARDR are up, the other 8 are down. My pick (GBYTE) is down the most.
But that's just 6 days, I've learned a long time ago I can't time the market, and that's why there's 10 months to go.

The next airdrop for Byteball happens on November 4. Current balance: 0.20228330 GBYTE.
I'll only receive the airdrop on Bytes I hold my own wallet, so I've withdrawn them. Bittrex charged 0.002 GBYTE fee to withdraw. New balance: 0.20028330 GBYTE.

It's unsure for how long the airdrop continues, I expect several more months, so I keep the Bytes in my own wallet. Airdrops cause inflation, so it's not just a freebie.

Airdrops also give free Blackbytes. They're (currently) not worth much, but I'll keep'm and try to sell them for GBYTE just before I sell all altcoins.

Addition (November 3, 2017): The GBYTE airdrop is reduced to 10% instead of 20%. I forgot to update this.

The irony is: Ardor is actually the best performing altcoin out of the 10 picked coins at the moment, Waves is the worst.
Measured in dollars it's only down a bit, measured in Bitcoin almost all altcoins got slaughtered.

Now would have been a much better moment to start than last month, but that's "in retrospect". For now: 9 months to go, full update in 2 days.

Thanks for keeping it updated. Very interested to see the results of the next few months as we see how BTC performs and how alts react. As 0.1 BTC is now worth around $1000, we’re only $300 below that in alts. I have no doubt that the price will catch up and the alts will continue to gain traction throughout the remaining months.

Luck? I don't think there's much logic behind cryptocurrency prices.
Both coins already lost their profit. Alts are getting slaughtered with Bitcoin up more than 30% in just one day, and many alts going down 30%.

We sure are getting destroyed against bitcoin here, but I'm not really disappointed - we're all a little more diversified, and I keep an eye on altcoins because of it! Plus we're still making returns relative to USD here.

We might have picked one of the craziest 10 month periods we could to do this experiment!
