I think I'm with you (8479 now) but we need someone that can set up an ABE or block explorer to see if we have 1600 (or whatever) blocks mined by the same person at the start of the chain now.

Did you pull milkshake's latest git and all when you set the checkpoints?  If you did I'm staying on this chain and going to bed.

Sorry I don't have the skills for it or I would be checking this myself, too.

edit: I guess it would just be enough to see the phrase in the first block, right?

Seems to start right up fine. Been running for 15 minutes or so with no segfault so far, I have some nodes connected to it (pushpool) and am getting a few blocks.

Honestly man the reward and this hash level is so low, it really doesn't matter until more people get onboard.  A QT does need to be released in order to get more people on board, but you really aren't missing out on much until that happens anyways.  Make sense?  Block rewards 1....so don't stress, take this time to learn how to use daemon client w/o QT.
