Since this supports GPU, how do I get GPU mining started? I am currently mining with the CPUs threads from what I can see.

Mining SOLO is only per CPU
It is possible to mine via GPU in a Mining Pool. But GPU mining is not very different from the CPU, because the Cryptonote algorithm uses the processor's L3 Cache to mine, using random access. The GDDR5 memory of the GPU is made for Bandwidth, not being so good with random access.

The currency is compatible with mining SOLO, just open the daemon, open the simplewallet and enter the command start_mining
