Mysterious Bitcoin Address in my wallet, suspicious?
May 13, 2013, 09:51:58 PM
#1
I am using an encrypted Bitcoin-qt wallet and I just noticed a randomly labeled Bitcoin receive address in my wallet. I would not have written the random label unless I somehow accidentally pressed buttons on the keyboard without noticing.
I would like to make sure nothing suspicious is going on. Should I treat the address with suspicion or just rename it? I just want to be sure, the password encryption I use is very secure/unqiue.
I should add that I have also been using Armory so perhaps Armory created an address in Bitcoin-qt?

Just rename it. It's only a receiving address, what's the harm?
I'd be a little more worried about a suspicious sending address.

I am going to avoid using the address, better safe then sorry.
