ok interesting, i looked into this a little more.

I upped my frequency to -10 from -30. I will see if it's more stable. I was following the STAK reddit guide. Seems things evolved quite a bit.

I'm fooling with 0% tdp. It costs about 150 extra watts at the wall vs. -20% tdp on 3 Vega 56. It's does not really matter to me. I have big enough PSU, I just want stability. Profitability is about the same, all I want is good stability. I'm curious why the virtual memory settings matter...

I switched back to the Vega 56 BIOS as I see ZERO reason at this point to upgrade. Even though you can up the Memory Freq past the 56 BIOS (stable) limit of 935MHz, there seems to be no real gain in any way, and in fact, power usage seems to go up compared to stock 56 BIOS.

    My current settings with 56 BIOS @ 1942.9 H/s Average @ 68C Temp:

    GPU: Freq% = 0
    Memory Freq% = 935 MHz
Power Limit: +10% (However this does not seem to make a difference weather its 0% or 10%)
    FAN: 2000 RPM

    THIS SEEMS TO BE IMPORTANT!!!!!!

Disabling and reinstalling the Vega 56 in "Device Manager" after any Wattman changes seems to add a level of hash-rate stability, though I might be imagining things.

if you aren't going to flash the BIOS -I can't for instance- and want better temperatures I'd wholeheartedly recommend you to read my post on the matter of Vega 56 settings and bat files and Windows restarts.

If like me, you can't flash the BIOS -or maybe you prefer not to-, dont mind the comments saying that's unnecessary 'cos it makes a hell of a difference and your life easier and you can have a 24/7 rig without hash errors at all, low power consumption and a totally automated process at every restart -say your computer is powered off- without you touching a single setting!

This guide is excellent to start.

btw pyr8, those temps are a bit in the unacceptable side. A number in the 50s or less is ideal.

@almost30 that pace seems ok. What's your simple Vega hashrate as of now? You'd get around .84 Monero with that speed in 8 days, and in less than 2 days the rest to get 1 Monero. 10 days = 1 Monero with 6 Vega sounds like a quite good hashrate to me.
