But a lot of people are now being hacked becuase of the forks, and this is not the fault of the hackers, this is because people are so anxius about getting forked coins for free, or even those altcoin airdrops too.
There is a lot of people who lost a huge amount of money because they exported their ethereum private key to one of those erc20 airdrops.
They just lost everything, and i heard about a guy who lost more than 1000 ethereums because he wanted to claim some Ethereum Blue.
This was a really sad story, but he really diserved this because it was his fault, and obviously because he was so greedy.
That is not hacking.
Even the term hacking is a bit misleading because you actually would have to "crack" a wallet key.
The guys you mentioned just fell victims to simple phishing attempts.
These days if you really want to claim your helicopter coin you should really take the time to learn how to build your own wallet.
If you are smart enough you would not place all your funds into one of those wallets like Xapo or Coinbase, they are not safe enough and you can be easily hacked through them.
Ironically, we have quite the twist here
Most people that lost their coins have downloaded wallets in order to keep the coins safe on their own computer/phone and not rely on online wallets.
