Using scripts in bitcoin transactions

Has anyone started using the script part of the Bitcoin Protocol? Are there any tutorials to this (I mean something more high-level then the wiki entry
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Script)?
It looks like this could be a great enabling technology for some on-line games and competitions - but it is rather hard to understand what exactly it can do and what are the limits of it.

This
thread
and
wiki
page may be interesting to you.
So far those are only ideas and aren't implemented yet. There is a patch available on
github
that implements escrows, but I haven't checked it out so I have no idea how stable it is.
