But no seriously I have high hopes for bitcoin and some outrageous expectations myself (50-100k by that time) but they are manageable when all said and done. I would love a 7 figure tag for one bitcoin and think it is one day possible but that simply seems too soon. One thing though that I did read today that may help his case is that the NASDAQ is going to offer bitcoin futures come Q2 or Q3 2018. he is just hyping up the market. he is not really making a proper speculation. this is more of a guess, something like putting wood in the fire. but we all know that it may very well happen and price can reach that number until 2020, specially since there is the next block reward halving in that year which will boost the price up significantly.

If you view his original tweet thread, he says he has a doctorate in point-set-topology, and it actually predicts like $2,000,000 in three years, but he went conservative (lol) and said $500,000 instead. I'm not sure if he even believes what he's saying, but whatever. It's good for the market lol.

1 million is 100 times of the current price. I think it is too much, if this is true, Bitcoin has really exploded.
Personally I don't think that will happen in 2020, but it will happen in the latter years, maybe 2025.

John McAfee is Bitcoin evangelist that may sound crazy and controversial at first but don't forget he is one of few people that have connections from both worlds: financial district and hackers/geeks underworld. His predictions are not based on pure analytical data, we all know that. Winklevoss twins predicted in 2013 Bitcoin will be worth 40.000$ - bold statement at that time, back then in 2013 BTC price was 650$-800$, everyone was thinking they crazy.
