data authentication idea has huge potential

Multi-Layer Index Hashing looks rather interesting. Tell me, how versatile is this? For example, can a Developer willingly put an expiry date on this? Like say you want to make memetic information on purpose and put it on the network. I am also generally curious as how this is applied (the data stucture of the block, etc)
