Step 5: Go to step 2 Calculate your vanity wallet. In the first field put the private key you saved and in the second field put the partial private key I gave you. Click Add and Calculate Vanity Wallet
Step 6: Copy the Vanity Private Key (WIF) and import it into your preferred wallet.

If something doesn't work as expected, have a look at this example.

In Step 3, you run vanitygen by yourself, and use your own publick key.

You can also use split key if you don't trust the computer that you use to run Vanitygen.

Yes, if you find the private key for one of the items in that list, you will get the reward listed. Use oclvanityminer for that, or oclvanitygen -P <public address> <prefix to search for>

Yes, but it won't be accepted as a completed work by the vanity pool. You can use it for yourself, though

I'm not, but for a data point that's probably not on there, I'm seeing about 28 Mkeys/s from a Radeon RX460. (Host system is Gentoo Linux with the AMDGPU driver and AMDGPU-Pro OpenCL layer. I had to tweak calc_addrs.cl as described in https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen/issues/38#issuecomment-31248556 to get it to work.)

What model GeForce GTX 1080 Ti are you using and if you kill/restart vanitygen does it start working again properly?

This is what I use to kill a process if something severely locks up:
kill -9 `pidof oclvanitygen`

Is there a clue you can go on such as the temperature of the GPU dropping instantly when the program locks up?

Asus 1080 ti rog strix oc.
Yes, it does start working again with no problem, but after several hours this error repeats.

Why down calculattion in used more card.
Use 1 card. Showed 37-40 Mkey/s.
Use 8 cards at same task. Showed 225-242 Mkey/s. But if calculate must be 296-320.
Other big process not runned, only oclvanitygen and systems.
And card not used at 100 percents.

That's exactly what I do. I just use my normal computer but boot up a Linux Live USB to generate the one 'half' of the private key. Works perfectly! Although you can only do one at a time as OgNasty has pointed out in the past. For personal use it's not a huge deal though.

I'm going to really dumb it down to the point that it isn't very accurate. If your partial private key is 0.....0001 and the next partial is X (your public key), what is X's private key? Who knows! Only you do! That's why it is a great secure option.

Yes, it does start working again with no problem, but after several hours this error repeats.

Interesting, I have the same card with that issue. I wrote an auto-restart script to keep it to an extremely minimal amount of downtime, send me a PM if you'd like to try it out.

Hi guys.

There was such idea: if you want absolutely safe to generate the vanity address (outsource) it is necessary to use partial key. This is too expensive, you need to use all the processing power to generate one vanity address. My idea: use third-party services that will generate a private and public key (something like a certification authority center as GeoTrust, Comodo etc.). The public key will be used to generate a large number of vanity addresses, so they can be made much cheaper. In this case, the full private key can only be obtained using the private key of a third-party service.

Can it work?

I wonder why a CUDA version of OCL vanitygen never got made? Surely, it would better on NVIDIA cards.

Strange. I have oclvanitygen.exe and it's working great with my integrated Nvidia GPU on the laptop.

The work of "A Performance Comparison of CUDA and OpenCL" says that the performance of the OpenCL core loses CUDA from 13% to 63%.

So, if you rewrite the utility Vanitygen on CUDA, you can significantly increase the speed of searching for vanity addresses.
