    To be honest, I think it's very likely that a lot of altcoins will find more value in 2018, but I don't think that necessarily means that bitcoin's price will plummet. I really liked the comparison to DOS/Windows & Mac OS in the article, but I don't think it's really well applied to this scenario. For the most part, people don't need to care how bitcoin works. They SHOULD, but it's becoming so widespread that people know the basics of it, and for their investment purposes, that's more than enough. 2018 could possibly be a year where people start learning more about cryptos and how they work in relation to technology.

    it just seems that altcoin will grow soon. There are too many alt coins create and also too many coins doent success like ethreum or any coin. I saw that ethereum increase by the triple of its own price so it has a chance to get bitcoin or to follow what bitcoin does experience. Bitcoin has too many advertisement now, and also in youtube, social media and some more i saw bitcoin but too many people dont any idea about this so bitcoin can be more expensive soon because people heard bitcoin first other than other coin.

    ethereum price has really shoot up recently but In my opinion it will never surpass the price of BTC. although it can be so percentage-wise bitcoin price will also rise. Just a matter of time

    Although my major asset is BTC, I will not be surprised if Ethereum take Bitcoin' s place as the No. 1 cryptocurrency.

    Yes.. i hope 2018 is etherium year since i have hold some etherium.
    2017 is really bitcoin year seeing in the run. But the run has minus near new year.

    As more and more ico projects run on eth, the price of eth will continue to rise, so will the year 2018 also be eth!

    I think 2017 is the year for BTC and ETH. they can not be separated. both will not stop running, especially BTC, will run towards $ 100,000, but it takes a long time.
    but you do not forget, that 2018 will also be the year for BCH.

    Some people say so, but I guess (just as you do) Bitcoin will remain the king and ETH will get some boost, so, 2018 would be Year for both Bitcoin and ETH.

    It is True Bitcoin took 9 long years to come to this position but True Value of Bitcoin is possible 1000000 dollars it is long way to go and Etherum will follow Bitcoin in all coming years

    I think it will be still a year for Bitcoin. The hardfork this year which is supposedly on the last quarter was cancelled but is now expected to happen next year. Hardforks, based on the previous occurence, positively affects the market value of Bitcoin . So I think it will be a factor to make the market stats of Bitcoin next year, great.

    I don't think so that its will be good idea of comparing bitcoin and ethereum because bitcoin is old coin then ethereum and bitcoin is the queen of all coins while price of BTC is also very high as compare to ethereum. According to me it is not possible that ethereum will cross the price limit of BTC.

    Ethereum is good altcoins, but I don't think 2018 ethereum next year, too hard to predict it. Bitcoin will stay it top cryptocurrency and might Ethereum will remain in the second place of cryptocurrency. For me, a lot of the altcoin want to be the second place like a ripple. I sure that bitcoin will take the lead and maybe Ethereum or Ripple take the second spot.

    There are people that love ETH more than Bitcoin and It’s their choice. As what I have read in several blogs and news, Bitcoin is still will be the cryptocurrency king of 2018 due to the following. First, BTC will remain the crypto with the highest market capitalization and moved volume. Mean to say, there are more people that will use it aside from other altcoins. Second, price; ETH price is still way behind the price of BTC thus more people will be attract, and price swing will be favorable to traders. And lastly, company support; there are more company that is starting to accept crypto specially BTC rather than alt coins.

    2017 is indeed a year for bitcoin, not only in bitcoin but also in etherium. but as of the last week of december  the value of bitcoin has suddenly drop and declining due to some factors and events. etherium on the other hand is still increasing substantially despite the issue that its facing recently due to those crypto kitties. overall 2018 will be the good year for bitcoin because the demand will now be bigger than the supply.

    Etherum is already doing great work as it moved it price too fast from 200$ to 700$ and it will go much more above in 2018. But also we can't forget bitcoins as bitcoins too will just go much more above beyond expectations this coming year. Bitcoins will make us happy by giving huge profits.

    Ethereum was supposed to be a Smart contract coin, but when Bitcoin struggled with scaling problems and network spamming, Ethereum was suddenly hyped as the alternative for Bitcoin as a Currency. <They saw a opportunity and changed their model>

    Then BCash forked and Ethereum was not the BEST alternative anymore. <because BCash was hyped and pumped more than Ethereum>

    When the LN is implemented, both of these coins will not be a alternative anymore, because they cannot compete as a currency to the level where the LN will take Bitcoin.

    Both ETH and BTC will beat their ATH in 2018 in my opinion. In addition, other tokens will be a good investment option.
