I have seen the news when i opened my google apps. Seen the video and the article. This is a good technology for bitcoin ecosystem in my opinion, as it can eliminates all the transaction issues we have right now, which is high fees and slow transaction. I hope it can be implemented soon in the network.
But with the implementation lightning network, im curious if this technology alone is enough to handle the transaction, as it may increase the number of transaction per day. I am guessing it is a good thing if it will be paired with bigger block size, forget about the segwit.
And we must anticipate some thing if this technology is implemented on the network, like maybe, wallets will charge us for making a transaction, and miners will lose some of their earnings.

Great one! Waiting for the testing of Lightning Network for Bitcoin with higher volume of transactions. Getting this implemented on time will be my only true New year's gift. The high transaction fees are just frustrating, I still paid $27 just to transfer about $100. Thanks for the video, Alex Bosworth.

it won't be for free (0 fees) but it will be cheap.
you still have to make an on-chain transaction to enter and exit the Lightning Channel and you will also if i am not mistaken have to pay a fee when sending transactions through lightning network to pay the hubs but it will very low. but in case of this fee, there will be a competition among hubs to do things with lower fee or even free which reduces the fees since there are no blocks in LN to fill up and the more transaction you process the more you earn.

I can't wait until Lightning is implemented. IT is going to make Bitcoin so much better. Like Web 1.0 > Web 2,0
