GPUs don't have a huge advantage?

You mean you can cram 12 CPUs on a single board?
Even if you find a way to do it, how much power draw will they have?
How much space they are going to take? How noisy?
You can just go in any computer shop and buy these CPUs and a single motherboard?

I would agree that: CPU mining Cryptonight is also profitable, but GPUs will always have advantage.

Nobody will stop them from doing it. That's the beauty of decentralized system.

What JSE is doing instead is complete and total centralization, and they admit to it, let me quote them "The JSEcoin system is currently fully centralized. " taken from their page.

So the question is why they do mining at all? It's artificial mining that has no use case.

Normally mining is there to secure decentralized network. In centralized system like that, it makes absolutely no sense. They kept it as marketing trick I guess so people who earlier mined decentralized coins can switch and feel like at home, thinking they are doing same thing. But they don't.

Good luck with that aproach long-term.

There are many algorithms in which even relatively inexpensive CPUs show significantly better results than GPUs.

You have a severe misunderstanding of how these algorithms work if you think GPUs have any advantage.

I think he means that there are several algos that GPUs cannot mine which are CPU only. I've mined HODL, ROI, and a few of the Argon2d algos myself. I think it's a waste of time to try and compete with GPUs and ASICs to mine a GPU/ASIC coin with a CPU. You may as well mine BTC with your CPU if you insist on throwing money away for electricity and mining for a loss. You're better off to stick to a CPU only algo coin if you mine with a CPU. Trade those CPU coins for BTC and buy Monero or whatever coin you want in the end. It's not rocket science and you'll profit instead of lose.

If that is what he actually meant, than I agree. I also agree with minerja, so let's cut the crap and focus on
most profitable CPU mining coins (no matter how scarce they are nowadays).

Right now, we're focused on growing our mining community. The apps available prove our vision is very realistic but the apps themselves need more development before attracting additional users. We want to grow our userbase when the time is right, but in the mean time, we need more CPU miners to support and promote the network.
