It depends of what You expect.
The gold days of mining with extra profit, and simple "one click mining solutions" are gone. You has to have some technical knowledge, and if You ready to invest Your time in research, learn, adopt and follow the latest news, it is, and will be profitable.
The profitability will be questionable for 10000GPUs (or bigger) farms, but for small miners from 50 to 200GPUs always will be something to mine. Also, the profitability will be better when some miners left mining.
ASICs were considered as a future of mining, but few greedy ASIC producers with their unfair business model, and dedicated overproduction destroy all trust in ASIC profitability.
FPGA can be the future, but it depends how miner program developers support it. If it will be free programs with "devs fee" (like Claymore) system, the future is bright. If they decide to sell dedicated HW+SW solutions it will probably finish like ASICs...

Too late for that. Devs already made their decision. They have chosen to live with the ASICs. Forget ETH and start shilling for the GPU friendly coins like Monero and Raven. Raven is too fresh (one can say that's a good thing) and Monero is only good for AMD products like Ryzen CPU or Vega GPU sadly.

Just hire your rig for the best paying customer like you were doing before. Right now it is either Raven or Monero. Eth sold itself to Bitmain. Crying after it is meaningless.

The mentioned ETH ASIC's don't make a huge difference in terms of hashrate and power consumption from a multi GPU rig.

I'm still looking on these kind of shitty alts, and still grasps as of the moment, searching for other shitty coins who could made such profitability is somewhat a trial and error with luck

Another satisfactory real 20% profit, since my first advice, 50% real profit on any coin and 90%-150% profit on some coins, sadly weak hands will keep losing the profit. I guess the sad truth will make you trolls to learn that only holders win in this game.

E3 will be on july, so 2x more dif and 2x eth price. Also the f3 will be in disguise for bitrmain to turn it on on july without any problem and in the end bitmain will say the dif increase was only the e3 which will be a lie. The dif will never grow 2x with just the e3, the f3's will be all hidden hehe, 51% attack for bitmain and co hehe but they will not do it, better to mine eth secretly with f3, more money in the long term.
