I agree with the sentiment of the parent post.

(My plans have been to go to the conference, but I'm currently worried about the lack of updates/info. It would be a transatlantic business trip and for that I need to be able to motivate its validity)

Might be a good idea to try to email Bruce first before trying to defame him in public. From what I've seen he isn't a bad person and is genuinely working on things. It's not nice to make personal attacks on people without first trying to see what's up.

I could understand if he made a bad reply or something but cmon

This is hardly defamation.
Bruce was emailed twice. The dates are in the above letter “Emailed 6-29 and again on 7-22”. I Even tried to get his attention in during one of his Bitcoin Show chats.
My business partner and I were excited to go at first and we told Bruce so. We were going to get one of those booths, roll out our new products, sponsorships, all the usual trade show trappings… Well you tell me if anything resembling the claims at http://bitcoinconference.com
is actually going to happen? If nothing else then I am simply asking Bruce to take down the above links and threads, then remove this thread while they are at it. But go ahead and have the global bitcoin Meetup hack-a-thon, hell ya I will come to that.
Bruce is a big boy. He was the first member of my San Diego Orange County Bitcoin Meetup.
With bitcoin being the rocket sled that it is we’re all very busy. So I’m encouraging Bruce to ‘crowdsource’ just one of his great ideas.
Trust me, before I clicked on that post button I thought about what the community might do to my modest reputation and it was not a pleasant thought.

Bruce planted a seed, I am watering it.
I go to (and have to write the check for) a fair number of trade shows. So as a vendor and attendee I know what I like. 
I volunteer to be on a planning committee or a door keeper, whatever moves my mission forward more.

I believe you are real person with real agendas, unfortunately most of those agendas seem to deal with whining and unrealistic solutions to problems you are creating yourself.   

I also look forward to seeing if you are tied to the current MyBitcoin soap opera in any way

btw todd, my post is semi-fucking with you.  That Bitcoin Conference is definitely starting to sound like OnlyOneTV conference (I know not your words), however trying to change the conference with this post in a public area, makes no logical sense.

You have to keep in mind the size and scope of bitcoin.  It is not anywhere close to a CES or large show.  If the target group size is 50 people, the size/venue/pricing needs to be appropriate for that.

1 or 2 bitcoins to attend should be affordable to anyone that is interested in attending and learning about bitcoins.

10 bitcoins for a business to be able to show off and sell their services is reasonable as well. 

Traveling to NYC is the biggest expense for most people.  There's no need to charge alot of money ontop of that.

If you look at the agenda you will see a large block of time for people to breakout into smaller groups to discuss their specific bitcoin interests:

- Wallet Client Development
- Mining Hardware Software
- Trading and Exchange
- Merchant Tools

bitcoin is the single biggest opportunity for entrepreneurs and startups since the .com era.  If the conference can provide an opportunity for great minds to collaborate, for a reasonable price, that's all that's needed right now.  Maybe in a few years we can sell out the Vegas Convention Center.  But not now.
