Many companies, banks and goverments are lobbying against bitcoin, while praising the blockchain technology Sathoshi invented. Soon they will use the open source software to develop their own blockchains, without ever expressing gratitude to satoshi or the bitcoin community. Isn't that stealing?
Stealing? No, since it's
free and open-source software, I wouldn't call it stealing if people are using chunk of the code to create their own blockchain.
The original Bitcoin core client was released under the MIT license, which is pretty permissive.
Where do you get the idea that it would be stealing if banks or companies make their own implementation of something that's released as FOSS software?
Thoughts like that go fully against the principles of FOSS.
