The next bid came in too late @ 3:11:32pm, 1 minutes and 32 seconds past the additional 5 minute increment.

Since it says "additional 5 minutes" I think it means in addition to the original ending time of the auction.  Otherwise, it wouldn't be "additional."  But I can also entertain your meaning as well, just can't embrace it.

I don't dispute your analysis on the time the bids were placed--that isn't at issue.  What is at issue is the interpretation of "additional" five minutes.  I think additional means in addition to.  Again, I can entertain the other interpretation, but I sure as heck won't embrace it.    I love Kialaras too much.

I'm feeling a little ganged up on.    The language "will add an additional 5 minutes ad infinitum" suggests that multiple 5 minute increments may be added.  So I don't think it means that just one is added.

lol you are not being ganged up on. If the sniping rule said that any bid within the last 5 minutes adds an additional 5 minutes to the END of the auction then you would have won. but this particular one reads as though the 5 minutes is added to any bid received in the last 5 minutes of the auction(in this case I believe GP wins). Wording in sniping rules has to be very carefully read and a lot of times it does lead to these kinds of arguments. This is why these questions and clarifications should be asked about before the auction has ended.

If more than 5 minutes pass during the no sniping phase the last bid is the winner.  More than 5 minutes passed between bids.

I'm actually saying you won.  You bid within the sniping period and then the next bid was more than 5 minutes which was too slow.

The whole point of the no sniping rule is so it doesn't come down to luck and who can get the last bid at the last second before it expires.  Your bid was within the 5 minute no sniping period that is set up to allow the auction to play out and your bid extended it 5 more minutes.  GP didn't respond to your bid fast enough so the 5 minutes expired and the auction ended.
