My best bet is that he's still active here, but was annoyed about all the requests and questions from new Bitcoin users, so he changed his username and is participating ignotito

He may also have done this as symbolism that Bitcoin is not a one man show and can stand on its own.

Well, I wouldn't mind the Bitcoin program getting new releases, though. There's still a lot to do in terms of core features, GUI, and code modularity (several proposals have been made) among others. Or maybe this silence should be taken as a call for forking...

Patches welcome, although before accepting any more patches "we" need to build the 0.3.20 release.  Assuming my cold doesn't get a lot worse, I'll be trying to make that happen tomorrow...
