These are just tricks by chief officers in the company to gain some points as innovative leaders or something.
It is just PR, they have no idea what they are doing or what they could gain from using decentralized technologies.
They usually just end up centralized their technology and retain some inefficient blockchain structure that makes no sense in a centralized system.

Mastercard can just use Bitcoin if they really want an efficient payment system with blockchain technology, but I think they just want to appear competitive while they are losing their business to the blockchain.

Ya, thats a very good sign for everybody. Every renowned company that are thinking for future of their company are going to engaged in block chain because its more safe and secure in very sides. Future world is blockchain world and there is no doubt yet.

of course that you see big names within the space. Look for instance the list of companies working with hyperledger where you have CISO, IBM and others as well.

I do believe that these companies don't want to be left behind as they see the need and the potential of these new technologies that are emerging. This only tells us that we are on the right track, or at least that's how I see things.

I think they are doing the same kind of security/technology (they are only improving it) even before the creation of Blockchain, the technology only became popular because of Bitcoin and ever since it is called Blockchain. This multi-billion dollar companies have their own variations on how they keep and connect their records and transactions, with the creation of Blockchain it only has modify or improve whatever they are doing right now. Of course after all they need this kind of technology not only because of security but also transparency to others which will be needed if they will have a problem legally.

So I speculate that there will be a lot of companies who will join in and hop the blockchain hype. So I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 5 years, more top companies are already into blockchain and implementing it.

The blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value. So I Think Using this king of technology in Huge companies is a very good for their buisness. Not only for security,but also for the flexibility....

this is mainly hype (for the companies that try integrating blockchain technology).
they know that the blockchain technology is a revolution in technology and it is a very useful one too. on top of it, this technology is pretty hyped up. so using it can bring a lot of attention to their company, this can mean more revenue, higher share prices and a lot more. so everyone wants to get involved and do something with it.

it is not a bad thing nor a good one. they will create a centralized version of some platform that uses this technology. it can improve their company and help with a lot of things but it won't be public nor decentralized so we bitcoin users, don't care much about it.

you have the same perception as me, but I think it takes a long process so blockchain can adjust to the conditions because I think that it is useless if a company involves blockchain but the world's population is not ready to accept blockchain. unless the blockchain does not become the primary transaction.
