You are assuming most people think for themselves, rather than simply follow popular opinion (which is most often set by those who have a vested interest in the status quo -- i.e. NOT bitcoin or any other decentralized cryptocurrency).

As long as the altcoins has improvements they should have a market.

With all the recent news, some serious day traders may have noticed Bitcoin. There are alot of "green" (for a lack of better word) traders in the Bitcoin scene, because it's a niche market and just hasn't been that popular.

How would such a veteran day trader with serious funds enter the market?

I'm probably wrong, but it sure feels like someone it taking people for a ride.
