Really, this is soft limit, will be reached in ~50 years, if no significant network activity. This estimate including POS+POS money supply increase.
However, don't forget, EMC has TX FEE, which is "destroyed" during transaction. So, existing process for decrease coin supply.
More over, NVS-operations also have significant TX FEE. And, these days, since mass domain squatting,
sometimes coin supply even decreased after some blocks, since coin burning is more than mining for some specific blocks!

So, we can estimate limit 1,000,000,000 as "practical soft limit", but not as real technical limit.

January 1st 2014: 30,021,591
January 1st 2015: 33,993,217
January 1st 2016: 36,792,389

Dropped from 4 million increase in 2014 to a 3 million increase in 2015.
