    no dont restart after entering the add node command.

    you can also put them in a conf file, so it will always work http://www.soccoin.com/#Mining  is a brief guide. you will have to restart the app if using this method, but not if using console.

    HELP!!!!!

    I'm having no luck at all connecting or syncing my wallet.

    I followed all the directions, yet no luck.

    I'm not sure I'm doing wrong.

    Im running Windows 8 on a 64 bit PC.

    I made the config file from the example on the 1st page of this thread.

    I named it, socialcoin.conf, and put it in my folder - %appdata&/Roaming/Socialcoin

    **Side note**

    Am I supposed to put a specific name & a specific password for:

    rpcuser & rpcpassword in the config file?

    I did not and left it as it's on the first page of this thread

    rpcuser=socialcoinrpc
    rpcpassword=somearbitrarypassword

    Well sad to say, your conf file looks fine, my wallet is still working fine here connection wise.

    I will get someone smart from the team to come on and look at your problem and hopefully suggest something you can try.

    Just curiously have you used other wallets with no problem?

    Hi,

    I have many other wallets installed with no issue.

    I installed 3 wallets after so coins.

    On the bottom left of social coins wallet it says "No blocks available"

    Then in the middle it says 134 weeks behind, but does not sync.

    I also tried adding the 2 lines off adding 2 nodes through the wallets counsel, but had no luck.

    Did I manually put the configuration file in the correct location?

    It's in the folder, you specified on the 1st page of this thread, but the folder has no % is in front of it.

    I accessed the apps/roaming data/social coin folder - from the explore window in Windows 8.

    What does the % before %apps/roaming data/ stand for?

    Is how I accessed the folder to put the configuration file perhaps where I made an error?

    % is just because some people have different system drives/file setups

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Socialcoin

    is mine on windows 8

    with my actual username in place of USERNAME

    also appdata is a hidden folder

    did you do it like this in the console

    addnode IPADDRESS add

    you cant use the same format as the conf

    Hi,

    I noticed there is only the exe file in the other socialcoin folder - to launch the program.

    No dll files or dat or bat files.

    Is this correct?

    My file is named socialcoin.conf - I made a mistake when I typed it in the post above.

    Should I delete the wallet and try to install it again?

    If so, how do I do a clean delete of the wallet and all it's supporting files?

    well the wallet is just the exe file

    to do a clean start, delete everything in the roaming\socialcoin   folder that the conf is in, you should keep your conf it looked good

    if you have coins in a wallet, you will need to keep wallet.dat from that folder, otherwise all your coins will be gone!

    also if you want to make a backup of any wallet (you should backup all you have coins in) all you need is the wallet.dat
