Bitcoin Price Stabilizes As Segwit2x Scaling Consensus Solidifies

Bitcoins price is on the rise again as the commanding lead by the Segwit2x compromise scaling solution grows.

Over the weekend, Bitcoins price crashed to about $1,800 per coin, bringing the market cap down from roughly $40 billion later that week to a recent low of $30 billion. Now, the price has recovered close to $2,400, bringing the market cap back up to $38 billion. This has brought the rest of the market up from a weekend low of $60 billion to around $85 billion at present. Among other factors, this recovery could possibly coincide with the increasing solidity of signalling in support of the Segwit2x (or BIP91) scaling agreement, which could quiet down the Bitcoin communitys internal discord.

I was going to do a screenshot of coinmarket cap but by the time I got around to it IOTA had managed to turn green, spoiling the effect a bit but still its nice to see Dash in the green. I wonder if the market is starting to realise that Dash already has an onchain scaling solution in the works, while other projects suffer from no clear direction.

Bitsquare/Bisq to Add Dash As Base Currency Soon, Faces Boycott Threats

Bisq announced that it would be adding Dash as a base currency on its platform soon, drawing ire and boycott threats from communities of other coins.

Formerly known as Bitsquare, Bisq is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform. While it supports hundreds of different currencies, few are employed as main markets with fiat trading pairs. Earlier this month, Bisq announced the addition of Litecoin and Dogecoin as base currencies, as well as Dash coming soon, likely in conjunction with the release of multisig support.
