I am Interesting in Eth too, but I am worring about current problems with transaction.

Yelp, it all works now - you just need to delete off, the old stuff, like the blockchain and re-download the blockchain for 0.8.3.
Just remember, not delete the Keystore hidden folder with you wallet in it.
Read the previous post on this ANN from a couple of days back on 0.8.3.
The last attack was not serious, somebody or group spent a huge amount of time looking for some transactions that were under-priced in terms "gas" usage, relative to the computational time and put together a smart contract to spam those expensive computational transactions.
So, the developers did a super-fast fix for it.
