Hey Butters I like the PPC style hybrid PoW/PoS system, you get checkpoints and an additional layer of security.
If I remember right, the devs are planning a hybrid phase as a transition to pure POS. But the ultimate goal in Casper is pure POS. POS has never been implemented at such a high bandwidth and Vitalik says that this is one of the greatest challenges Ethereum has yet to meet.
would you explain what casper does ?
well, I don't fully understand it yet, myself. And there is a lot that is still to be determined. Anyways, here's a link to one of their blog posts that discusses what is "Casper."
https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/08/01/introducing-casper-friendly-ghost/its the system of prove of stake and and how to make sure it stays independent and in the hand of the manny and not get overtaken by the few ?
i am not an expert but i see only one risk for cryptos thats the heavy load of data you need to put on your pc if you use core clients
and as i understand this caspar make it posible to keep the power of vote in the hand of the manny ?
or i am totaly wrong?
at the moment for example bitcoin core needs so much space some of my friends stop using it.
the crypto thing has to work on average pc home pc
if its to heavy for that then some big company will create mining farms or servers for lightwallets and so on and the power is again in few hands
or am i to pesimistic ?
