    You do know that BUYING etc like you did gives every ETH holder more $, BTC and ETH...inc the ETH Foundation... Tongue
    I don't really care what fork bagholders do think they're given.
    People that bought ETC during ICO made a fortune because there was no pre-mine this time.

    Pre-mine is effectively registered only after eth is moved as etc after the split. What happend is very similar to ICO. This is why etc price rise practically started from zero!

    But I don't know, if this is really true or it's only a trolling on a large scale.
    We will see, when the attacker starts to dump his coins...

    But maybe it was not that bad to keep the old chain after all.
    If ETH changes to pos, ETC will most likely not follow and then the two chains are really reasonable.
    But hopefully this will not be even more messy so that it turns out to be 4 chains. ETH POS, ETH POW, ETC POS and ETC POW...

    Don't listen to unprofessional advice!
    You're not safe as you have already sold your ETC following the wrong advice from die hard forkers.

    Neither of the chains is safe as both are now susceptible to replay attacks as long as they exist in parallel. Stronger chain is less susceptible while weaker chain is more susceptible. As etc chain is getting stronger every day forked chain will experience replay attacks more and more often.

    To resolve this situation one of the chains has to implement a hard fork. Since Classic chain won't do that the only option is Forked chain to implement a hard fork... again.

    It depends on the ideology of the DAO hacker. If he just wants the money, he could short it and dump it to death.

    You're coins are safe if you only ever use the address for ETH. If you transfer ETC to it and then transfer ETC out your ETH will likely move too.

    BTW "replay attack" is a bit misleading as it implies somebody may attack you or even take your coins, which is not always the case. If you transfer coins between your own addresses you can still recover them even if replay happened - you just import the private key of the destination address into both wallets and then do a clean split. It becomes a problem when you send to a third party, e.g. an exchange. And even more of a problem if someone comes up with a social engineering plan, e.g. sends you a small amount of ETC and asks to send it back or some such nonsense.

    tl;dr: your coins are safe, don't ever use the same address on both chains.

    ETC stands for Ether Coin. Forked ETH is not money but fuel for smart contracts that can be reversed and canceled by Ethereum Foundation devs.

    Quite amazing what I've been seeing. Comes down to the pure hatred of Etherium to the point of trying to use it against itself, and people stupid enough to give away their money to a thief and the like, utterly amazing.
    It's like inviting a thief into your home and watching him pick out whatever they want and waving goodby with a smile on your face.

    Vitalik has as nicely as he possibly can said goodby to all that to move on with Ethereum.

    It has become quite apparent that Ethereum will move on with the continued development and all the backing of what is being developed on it and all else will be left behind in what they have so wanted.
