I found eXo pretty cool actually.

This name fits perfectly for a kind of new generation crypto, written from scratch, including new features and apart of Nxt.
Just thinking how the marketing will work for the average joe, they have no clue about crypto and what you said will make no sense to them.
The average Joe won't find eXocoin without taking the time to read a bit about cryptocurrencies.
And any future article related to eXocoin will for sure speak at least, about bitcoin and/or Nxt.
Personally, I don't know any people who'll jump into something involving money without reading a good and complete explanation.
It was just my own interpretation.
There will always be people who dislike the name anyway.
If we want to get more average joe, the first and most important step for the entire community is to demystify and dedemonize cryptos as too many people keep associating it with black market, pyramid schemes etc...
