when you are quoting someone you should also include a link. in any case the time to sell your altcoins has been months ago when they were in their respective bubbles and were worth a lot more. now every day that passes you lose at least 5% of your investment because the altcoin dump is still ongoing. anybody can tell you with their eyes closed that you should dump your altcoins ASAP.

as for investing in bitcoin, i would wait a little more because it doesn't seem to have found the bottom price where things reverse up so buying now may lead to some regrets in near future. but even if you buy now you can be sure that soon enough price will recover and go higher than the price you bought at.

For a beginner to buy bitcoin and hold it is the simplest option of investing than to understand thousands of different altcoins and hope for a successful outcome of the events. But experienced traders and investors perfectly understand the situatio of altcoin and know which of them should be hold in order to get profit more than just from one bitcoin.

That's a right decision,in altcoins,a high risks is always there. Unlike bitcoin,because it is proven,trusted by many people,and today is the best time of buying bitcoins for holding for a long term.

nearly every single altcoin that has ever been created has outperformed bitcoin at some point. but that doesn't make them good. it just makes them good options for pumping. you can never pump bitcoin but it is super easy to pump a shitcoin. specially when they are worth so little. for example a shitcoin worth 1 satoshi can easily be pumped to 10 satoshi (outperforming bitcoin) in a week and then continue its death routine.
and yes they will continue to be shitcoins that get pumped and dumped. but the problem is they are getting pumped ...... AND.... dumped. you always forget this dump part of these shitcoins which is why you are losing money.

Everyone have their own strategy when investing in crypto or any other stock market and from his statement it looks like he want to play quite secure because he is only suggesting to invest in top coin so that there will always be enough buyers when he like to dump them.

Bitcoin is one of the top coin with very high trading volume and adoption so bitcoin's price can't just crash like other scam tokens or will not have 100% pump/dump within 24 hour. I suggest to hold both alt and bitcoin and keep changing hands according to market move.

look at it this way. we have bitcoin and we have altcoins. when bitcoin is going down altcoins also go down. so if you see the drops you should sell your altcoins.
now what should you buy? you should buy only things that have real good future. aka have potential. which means bitcoin!
