Thanks for your answer. I created the wallet and now I'd like to transfer coins from the old one. I have most of the SPECTRE coins locked in stake category, even though I disabled staking. I guess, I just need to wait for a while until they appear as available?

Check under options, if staking is enabled.
As well you have a little lock icon on the top right. When you hover over it, it should say: "wallet is locked". By pressing on it, it will ask for your password if you set one to unlock it.

restarting a QT wallet often fixes things with one that has a known large user base like the
Spectrecoin wallet. Good to hear you got things straightened out.

You always stake all your coins, unless not all coins are mature, staking is disabled, or you reserve an amount of coins not to stake.
There is an icon top right where you see the amount of coins that are staking from your wallet unless they are in cool down/maturing.

Great to see that there is still good progress and a lot of interest in this project. I really hope spectre can gain some attention in the next bull run, because i think anonymous coins will have a very bright future. Is there a actuel roadmap or something like that? Are there some nice feature in the developement right now? Maybe someone can give me a short information summary.
