Unfortunately, he has been given several steps he can take to prove the bar is real and hasnt. So I believe this venture to be a waste of time. He HAS an iPhone and could have taken 5 minutes to verify the bar. He likely would have gotten $400+ more for it if he had.

It's easy enough to send it to a trusted escrow who has the tools to verify the metal content.

Minerjones , myself or lesbiancow can test this bar easily.

If anyone has any doubts about its authenticity, I would not solely rely on a scan on packaging as that can easily be replicated or faked.

If the seller agrees to have the bar tested as part of the sale , then I see no issues , if not then id steer clear.
