    What is Bittrex?

    Bittrex is a next generation crypto trading platform built and operated in the United States by crypto enthusiasts with extensive development and security background.  We have over 50 combined years in the computer industry at companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Qualys, and Blackberry and have made careers developing secure and scalable software.  You can learn more about us on our About page.  

    Our mission is to deliver the fastest and most secure trading platform for the community.  

    We are launching with 10 currencies and will be adding more as we get community feedback.  It is important to us that our platform performs to our high expectations before additional currencies and features are added.  Screenshots below.

    • Custom built trading engine - Our custom trading engine was developed from the ground up with speed and scale as the priority.  Orders are executed as soon as they are placed and you will never see a crossed order book or a delay in processing of any trades.
    • Secure platform – We employ the latest security technologies to protect you and us.  We use an elastic multi stage wallet strategy ensuring that 80-90% of funds are offline and safe.  Additionally two-factor authentication (through email or google authenticator) is required for all withdrawals and API usage.  We designed everything from the ground up with security in mind.
    • Fast deposits and withdrawals - Our fully automated monitoring platform allows for near instantaneous updates on balance, trade, and wallet information.  You will never be left wondering where your funds are or if your deposits are blocked.  Information is always up to date.

    hmm another one ?

    having pro's involved is really needed but can you handle a large volume if it gets big ?
    what about cash reserves so when *if BTC doubles in value will there be a mystery transaction problem closing withdrawals ?
    what about security ? these site a have a bullseye on them and many have been hit.. and the ones still going strong
    are for a reason.. Experience.

    what guarantee we won't get a random excuse a shut down and missing funds ?

    and sorry but a resume alone means squat.. after all, we all tend to lie on our resumes right ? lol

    Bittrex is designed with security and scalability in mind. We have full audit trails and transparency of trades, withdrawals, and deposits.  Payments are independently tracked not solely reliant on block chains.  Trades (both limit and market) are executed and matched on submission instead of best effort. Automatic withdrawal and deposits are handled in seconds not hours or days.  All of that happens while maintaining the security and integrity of the system.  We’ve also designed the APIs with less limitations to help high frequency traders and active mining pools who want to convert their coins quickly.  I can continue to list innovations, but I'd rather you try it and give us your feedback afterwards.

    I have deposited 20 LTC and put some orders on the book in the LTC/BTC section. This is the only one that still had no trades. Deposit went very smoothly. So far I'm very impressed. Would like to know if you plan on implementing trades from BTC/USD or LTC/USD.

    It’s high on our priority list, but first we need to make sure we are complying with all US laws and meet FINCEN regulatory requirements.

    Full Disclosure:  The majority of the small scale activity on the other markets is our automated trade algorithm.  Read the news page https://www.bittrex.com/News for full details.  We are still in platform preview, so market liquidity is still very low.

    Well one week in I am very impressed. I have moved in and out about 50 ltc, 400k doge, and a bunch of other coins. All deposits went very smoothly. All withdrawal's as well. I haven't yet found the limits of the hot wallet on the site. I have had a great experience dealing with the staff thus far (though it's always easy in the beginning).

    Now I'm waiting for something crazy to go down so we can see the admins sweat under the pressure. Looking forward to having a nice, secure, trusted place to go to for buy/selling of some of the alt/alts. Seems like this site actually has a full dev, qa, testing, and production environment. Might need to give some lessons to the other exchanges.

    What else do you guys/girls have in store for us? What can we get excited about? I heard something about a voting systems for other Alts?
